Brainstorming

I was thinking about an ugly duckling-type story set in a forest or garden showing the growth of a mushroom and a couple of wildflowers, all starting as just little buds, then growing (in the mushroom's case) and blooming (in the flowers' case). The mushroom has to watch the flowers growing petals and being visited by butterflies and bees as it just grows larger and more awkward. But this would be a lot of animation...
